Well, I said we were going to try and do something a little extra as far as The Tickled Pink One goes, and it is game-on in that department over on the Music Radar Forum.
What a nice chap called Jules is organising over there (and you can read all about it by Clicking Here) is an Olympic Torch Style Relay where The Tickled Pink One gets passed from guitarist to another guitarist and hopefully makes it's merry way around the country, before arriving to be auctioned in February next year. I can't say I envy him the organisational task, but there are people signing up already so he is stuck with it now.
How this will hopefully raise a few bob is that everybody involved will donate a tenner or more to the Tickled Pink One Just Giving page Here. If you have already donated, you're in, of course. Just get in touch via the Music Radar Thread.
As for the auction, we'll be accepting sealed bids for the guitar that will be opened in February, but more on that later.
So if you fancy joining in, and better still you can gig the guitar or make a video or recording with it and generally 'add to the legend', all will be good and groovy.
Extra points if you can get it into the press or onto MTV or maybe Blue Peter, of course (well, a boy can dream).
Better still, if your next door neighbour is Johnny Marr, Slash, Eric Clapton or Pete Townsend and you can get a foto of them playing the guitar that would be lovely.
Actually, maybe not Pete Townsend, in the interests of keeping it in one piece.
Famous faces apart, we'll be showing fotos of everybody that gets involved as we go, so think of somewhere interesting to play it if you get the chance, or at least put some clothes on (I'm nicking Jools' best lines now, sorry mate.)
Given logistics, I'm guessing that not everybody who volunteers will actually be involved, so sooner you join up the better I expect.
So once more for luck, why not go Here and read all about it :o)
I don't normally ask this, but if you wouldn't mind forwarding on this lovely message to anybody that may be interested it would be lovely like.
Anyway, I think I'd err, better finish the guitar (ahem)
La la laaaa
