And Breathe....

Well, I've only just noticed Chris' cool comments about The Porn Shop One, so I think I can crawl out of the fallout shelter and breathe clean air again.

These were The Porn  Shop and Bye Bye Buy Ones before they went North a while ago. Quite a striking couple.

As for moving forward, it is the last day of the holibobs today, so tomorrow I taste freedom, and assuming the soldering iron arrives, it will be The Elmer and Old Burny Ones that will feel my super heated caress.

Other than molten lead running down my fingers, I'm also planning on starting on The Wasteland One.

As it happens, I've had a change of heart with this one, after looking at The fotos of The Porn Shop One, and I think I'm going rusty again, to some extent, though with a slightly different approach. Be interesting to see how it turns out anyway.

For the pickups, I've gone for a set of Gibson P90s - a nicely matched pair, which is kinda fun. I might even go for a Fake58 wiring loom, as I've not tried their full monty ones, but we'll have to see. I'm not in any panic anyway, and I have the benefit of being broke, which always gives you time to ponder your next move. Anyway, I'm more interested in getting the finish right to start with. (ahem)

But that's more the morrow, today we drink blood.

(Well, assuming there is a Quorn equivalent.)

Introducing: The Porn Shop One

I have an apology to make.

I've done a bad thing, and although it turned out OK, I'm not entirely pleased with meself.

But I need to share my shame.

Emote a little, perhaps.

Throw myself on your mercy.

But where to start...?

Well, I hate to admit that over the last few weeks, I have somewhat mis-led the house,
with my only slight defence being that it was in a good cause.

You see, my catalogue of disasters, as far as the quite lush The Porn Shop One and it's graceless decline go, weren't in fact true.

There I said it, and I can only apologise to my mythically regular reader.

What, really happened was that I had agreed to sell it to a top geezer called Chris, of Gorman fame, once it was finished.
Don't be surprised, it happens.

However, a spanner was thrown sometime between these two events, when his rather nefarious yet utterly fantastical other half - we'll call her "Tasha" for the purposes of this wee note, mainly as it is her name - got in touch on the QT and asked if she could instead buy it for him as a birthday present, and before that feted day unveil a sadistic series of catastrophic bobbins, that would convince Chris that the guitar had in fact been knackered up in a big way.

This, at least, I hope I managed to do...

Anyway, Chris was celebrating being 21-again yesterday, and is now The Porn Shop One's proud owner (I hope proud, anyway, maybe relieved at least.)

So, rather belatedly, may I introduce you to The Porn Shop One, which has spent the last month or so living in a loft in Scotland, like Robert The Bruce, or was it King Alfred in between burning cakes, I forget.

But The Porn Shop One, for the record, is a Red Cedar bodied Telemaster, with a lovely maple neck, traditionally cool Wilkinson ashtray bridge and cover.

Pickups are Bare Knuckle - "The Boss" at the bridge and a "Piledriver" stealthily hidden beneath the Esquire pickguard/scratchplate thing.

Gretsch knobs, set it off a tee and not forgetting the rather amazing Rusted Iron finish.

Bit of a Rustburst as it happens...

I must have been feeling a bit artistic that week.

So there we are. Chris should also have another wee box with the 80s-tastic The Bye Bye Buy One in it, but he probably hasn't noticed that yet, too busy constructing Voodoo dolls and sharpening pins, i would imagine.

So in summary - sorry for the deception - and Chris,
please, please, please don't kill me.

And remember,
it could have been socks,
know what I mean?

About The Porn Shop One

The Porn Shop One is one of the first Jooky Guitars to feature a rusted iron paint finish both to the body and the headstock. This is a tricky old effect to pull off – the iron really has to rust – but we are all plumped up feather-wise and proud of the result.

The guitar is of course based on a guitar that never really happened, a Telemaster, which is a mangled mongrel of a bitsa based on a Fender Jazzmaster and Telecaster colliding in a morphing thing. The body is made from Red Cedar and rings quite sweetly, having a Jazzmaster shape, with Telecaster Esquire ‘appointments’ and a lovely Telecaster Maple neck. Actually, it looks incredible. I am not too proud to avoid the facts…

Pickup-wise, the Porn Shop One is rather interesting. At the bridge is a handwound Bare Knuckle ‘The Boss’, while nestled beneath the scratchplate is a rather cool yet somewhat hot Bare Knuckle Piledriver. This combination gives some quite stunningly cool, yet groovily wicked tones and we think you’ll enjoy exploring them. With a bit of fuzz and overdrive it can be a bit of a monster. With reverb it is like an angel sipping water from the font, gargling and then getting all operatic on us.

*

To be clear, The Porn Shop One is an utterly unique guitar, and there will never, ever, be another made. It is signed and numbered, entirely hand built and finished cooler than a pleasant night checking the ingrowing nail on your sixth toe on the backporch of your shack. There will genuinely never be another guitar like this and past experience suggests that it won’t be around for long.

I Live for the Burn and the Sting of Pleasure

The Porn Shop One
Seen Later Yesterday
Well, I was going to talk about The Porn Shop One, but it has turned into a painfilled subject now, and I can't quite bring myself to broach it. Suffice to say that a drawing board may be returned to and I might need to see about a new body.

But there we are, what can you do about kids with hacksaw blades and too many home improvement programmes on Sky?

I blame the parents and of course it is the school holidays and I was too busy playing Paranoid.

On the sunny side of the street, I'm all rather chuffed with myself. The Les Paul Special I was talking about has yet to enter the palace of Jooky delightedness, but I've already managed to acquire a couple of rather dishy Catswhisker P90 Soapbars for it. I've also got some snotty Kluson tuners, a nice ABR/ToM bridge combo, which is all rather handy too.  Fotos to follow when I have something to fotograph.

As to my plans, well it will arrive in the usual cherry colour, but I have a yen to give it a fully agricultural finish. Things have been getting a bit bright and breezy recently and it is time to revert to my usual scenes of degradation and destruction. The Wasteland One then, should be just that. Actually, maybe I shouldn't mention destruction, it is a saw point at the mo.

As for The Floored Genius One yesterday, well, it never got too far as it happens as my little Orpheum SG took advantage of my every spare moment in rude and often downright dirty ways. The minxetta.

Today though, assuming the postie turns up before bedtime, I'm hoping to have the remaining parts for The Elmer One, so that could jump back to the top of the shop.

All of which leaves me - well, where?

I'm not really sure.

Busy in a non-specific way, I guess.

Talking The Walk

Time to get me act together and stop playing with the kids
Well, like I was saying yesterday - The Porn Shop One is bugging me. Don't get me wrong it is probably one of the best things to come out of Jookyland, but the neck is well and truly bent. More corkscrew than banana. More Twister than Fab.

Which is a downer.

But I have a new neck, so apart from finishing it to match, it shouldn't be a major issue.

Or so I thought until I conspired with myself to make it worse, as when I tried to take it off I somehow sheared it (if that is the right word for the top coming off of a screw and leaving the rest behind) which means I can't actually get the neck off at all. And when I do, there will still be a lump of metal sticking out.

On the plus side I did manage to remove most of the melted wiring mess from under the scratchplate, but it seems like a small mercy right now.

*sigh*

But that is for another day when my brain is clearer.

Today then, I have decided to finish up The Drip Dry One. I had wired this, but decided to do it differently and am going to re-do it from scratch. There is a good reason for this, but it escapes me right now.

Other than that I had already sorted out the tuners and the replacement - correct of size - bridge is awaiting me at the Post Office, Super Sustaining Steel Block and all, so I need to pick that up if my courier vigil ever ends.

From there, all that's left is for me to put a new nut on and get some strings in place and we should be there. Hopefully I'll be able to introduce you tomorrow. Or perhaps the day after the next one, or three after that.

Getting around to doing stuff is the tricky part, as The Bye Bye Buy One and The Off Key One are currently vying for my favours at the moment. I do love the Hot Slag in the BBBO, and yet Senor Jess' P90 is just sex-on-a-sticky-stick, so I'm spoiled somewhat. And you can't play with one without t'other getting jealous, you know what kids are like.

But enough talking about it...

WIP: The Porn Shop and Off Key Two

Well, a bit of a more productive day today...I found the camera if nothing else.

As you can see, The Off Key One is lacquered and just waiting for parts. The bluey-green corruption of the bronze top is lovely to behold in 3D and I'm really rather chuffed with myself.

The pickups and other parts will hopefully be here soonish, so Jr will be growing up before you know it.

As for the rather delish The Porn Shop One, that has turned into a bit of a pain.

Everything is together and screwed and generally fluffed within an inch of it's life. The bridge pickup sounds brilliant. Those Bare Knuckle chaps know their stuff and with the Cedar body it really sings.

With the neck pickup, I've had more of a troubling time. Hidden beneath the scratchplate that it is, it has proven tricky.

As we stand then, I'm still playing swap the pickup.

The old Gibson mini-humbucker, sadly is now but a memory as basically it couldn't cut it.

Since then I've tried a variety of other things and the best has been an overwound Bare Knuckle Boss neck pickup. However, I'm still not convinced and am therefore going to try a Bare Knuckle Piledriver (which is a bit more powerfilled), when that shows up next week.

I could just go with the Boss that is in there and to be honest if that proves to be the best, it sounds pretty-bloomin'-good anyway, but you are always looking for that extra 1% aren't you?

Plus without trying, it would feel like a bit of a cop out, so I won't.

No point it not being 100% after all.

I have also started to check out The Old Burny One, and will hopefully get a bit further with that later on. I'd almost forgotten about it, though not sure how as it is a pure delight.

Anyway...

Of Porn and Dogears

A Random Dogear foto for illustrative purposes
Well, not a lot to show for it today as I can't find the camera, for one, but I did get some stuff done, if not quite finished.

The most frustrating one first - The Porn Shop One - well, I got the strings on, but have struggled a wee bit to balance the pickups. Individually they sound great, but together it isn't quite 'there' just yet.  I have to say I didn't have a clue what a Cedar body would sound like - but it really rings out, it has a lovely tone to it. The Bare Knuckle Boss pickup is nice and hot too, but again has that Tele clarity - I'm really rather pleased, has to be said.

Anyway, I've now taken the cover off the '70s Gibson mini humbucker, I'm going to call it Olive as it is easier to type. Well, I've taken the cover off of Olive and have raised it right to the scratchplate.

Hopefully now it will be more 'there' when I get some new strings on. If not, I'll probably go with something different with a bit more oomph. We'll see tomorrow. Other than that though, it is beautiful. Even if it is too big for the case (why didn't I think of that, I've had enough Jazzmasters).

Next, I got to give The Off Key One a good old fashioned lacquering. Another couple of coats tomorrow and we should be in business.

As for a pickup for that one, I've took a punt on a handwinding pickup maker called Jess Loureiro from Spain. Not somebody I'd heard of before - in fact I came across him on Ebay, searching for Dogears, and then checked him out. Anyway, he recomended a P90 with one magnet Alnico 2 and t'other Alnico 5. He says it will give a richer sound.

Now, odd though it seems I've never heard this idea before, but it makes sense. Alnico 5 is generally quite hotly warm and rock-like, whereas 2 is bluesier and more Jazz-tinted. So mixing them, well, it makes sense and it was good to get some advice.

Well, we'll soon find out as I've got one coming this way as it sounds perfect for The Off Key One. He also makes Jazzmaster pickups, which tempt me and sound brilliant on his demos.

Anyway, his web site is HERE and I'll let you know how it all goes. So far so good though, he seems a top fella to deal with and the demos of his pickups are excellent.

But that is for another day...

I'm a Juggling Boy

Well, another week in purdor beckons, as I find myself surrounded by nearly-finished guitars, twirling in a holding pattern around my head like fluttery bats. So where to start?

Well, I need to get some strings - how can I have run out of strings? - so I can finish The Porn Shop One. Other than that and a set-up it is (hopefully) complete, so that should be a win, methinks.

After that is of course a bit of a why-the-f&*k-isn't-it-working session with The Old Burny One. I had it figured out last week, but should have written it down somewhere as I can't remember what my figuring led to right now.

The Tripadelic One is off to a new owner, which means we're down to just one guitar for sale again - The Grecian 201 One - which surprises me somewhat as I think it is amazing. And of course if I play a Jooky guitar and start to think 'Maybe, just maybe I could stretch the golden rules and keep this one'....they normally sell before I complete the thought sentence thing.

Still, I can play it today, which is OK by me.

Other than that, I'm ignoring The Drip Dry and Bye Bye Buy Ones until the other two are out of the way.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, the SG Jr I was talking about last week - The Off Key One - just arrived and it is beautiful. As you can see somebody has started to sand it down, but it is a lovely piece of mahogany and the neck is really nice-in-the-hand, as it were. Looking forward to doing this, but maybe not just yet. Not least because I need to get, well, all the parts, and decide whether to go golden or bronze.

Anyway....

WIP: The Porn Shop One

Well, I never got anywhere near a soldering iron, but I did manage to get a chop on with the Porn Shop One.

As you can see, the rusted iron finish is just amazing, and everything is screwed together.

Just some soldering alchemy to do to make it noisy and it will be there.

Though there are a few in that boat around here, it has to be said..

Here it be anywaysup

Whole Lotta Rustin' Goin' On

The Back All Sealed And Moody
Well, Day two of The Porn Shop One's Jookification and it is a bit more ironing.

First up though, I had to seal the rustiness on the back of the guitar. This dampens the colour down somewhat making it richer and more woody, which I like, while retaining a degree of orangeyfireyness which I love. It gets brighter again once it is lacquered though and all a bit 3D, which is rather compelling.

Anyway, that is all good and as the sealer stuff dried overnight I've moved on to the front. I decided I might as well lacquer the body as one later, as the sealer is good enough to keep things stable while I do the front.

Least, I think it is.

In addition to the guitar front, after much searching-for-a-soul, I decided to go for a matching headstock, so that is being ironed then rusted today too. I was in two minds really, but the neck looked so clean compared to the body - maple 'board and all that - that it seemed to make sense. I'm also doing the scratchplate in rusty goodness while I'm at it. Me and Henry Ford - can't be bad.

So as far as The Porn Shop One goes, the body should be complete next week sometime, I would think, depending on how much lacquer I use and how quickly it dries.

As for the others, well, kids back at school tomorrow for a day so I'll be moving on with some soldering with a bit of luck and getting The Old Burny One fettled. I can't wait to hear what that sounds like. Especially with a weekend ahead to play it

As for the others, well, it will be next week before I get them done I expect now, but it is all coming together.

As for the SG Jr thing, I've decided on the spec - it will have:

1. Mahogany body
2. Mahogany fixed neck
3. Rosewood 'board
4. '50s style wiring - all bumble bees and braided wiring
5. Gotoh Wraparound bridge
6. Grover tuners
7. Bare Knuckle P90 Dogear
8. A 24 karat Gold Leaf top, suitably roughed-up.

And henceforth it shall be known locally as The Off Key One, as it has an offset SG body. Bless it.

WIP: Getting Rusty With It - The Porn Shop One

Well, sick-kid-sitting apart, I did manage to get started on the rustiness of The Porn Shop One today, though it will take a while before it is proper done like..

As you can see in the fotos, I've started with the back this time, just for varieties sake, and Simon's beautiful Cedar was first gloopified with gloopy iron paint - three coats of that.

Once the iron paint had dried, I used some chemical bobbins to activate the iron in the paint in double-quick smart time and make it rusty like.

A little while later, a second lot of chemical stuff was dripped on to vary the rust and give it more of a 3D kind of look.

Once that has dried there are a few more chemicals to splat around which should seal the patina before I lacquer it. As the cedar is tres soft, I will probably give a bit of a thicker coat of lacquer than normal, just have to see how it builds up... Though not too thick, I want it to 'relic' over time, of course.

Once that is done, it will be time to do the front.

All of which takes a while compared to a 'normal' finish, but I think will be worth it in the end. Gilding and fabric are a lot quicker - just a few days if the lacquer is thin, but I do like the corroded ones a lot so it is worth the effort.

As for the other parts, the tuners and bridge are already 'aged' but I am going to do something about the control plate, knobs and ashtray cover as gleaming shiny doesn't really go. The white scratchplate is destined to be rustified too, I think. I did wonder about black for a contrast but I think the rust will work better this time.

Ah well, just a metter of waiting again now...

Step 1: Get a beautiful body

Step 2: Cover it with coats of gloopy iron paint

Step 3: Throw acid in it's face

Step 4: Throw some more acid

Step 5: Let it dry and get rustified

Born of Frustration

The Grecian 201 One
This week's favourite guitar
Well, after two days of not a lot happening apart from meeting Simon-from-Fusion-Guitars and getting the quite lovely Telemaster body, poncing around with bits and taking fotos, I figured that today I would finish The Old Burny One and then have a pleasent time playing it.

Then one of the bratskis did the projectile vom thing and so will be at home for a couple of days, which becomes even more of a solder free zone than normal. Then the other joined in too this morning, so that's that dead in the water.

And as Plans B and C - The Bye, Bye, Buy and Drip Dry Ones both need some metal melting too, I'm kinda stuffed on those as well.

So, despite best intentions, it looks like The Porn Shop One is going to be getting a bit of a rusted iron bath earlier than intended. I mean, what else can I do - I didn't want to, it's just the way it be?

More on that later, no doubt.

One thing I did manage to do yesterday was drop The Golden Shower One in to Mark at Clevedon Music for a bit of TLC. Now, I'm quite happy doing most things on guitars these days, after a fair bit of practice, but I'm still a novice when it comes to repairing raised frets. I could have given it a go, but my recent attempts haven't convinced me that I'm ready to ruin a guitar I really rather like. So Mark is going to sort out the frets for me. The secret is knowing your limitations after all.

In other news, I picked-up a stripped down old SG Junior the other day. Not a lot to it, just mahogany body and fixed neck and a roseywood board. It looks decent though, and I'm quite looking forward to having a go at something new again. I'll let you know what it is like when it shows-up.

I've fancied doing one of these for a while - a dogear P90 at the bridge and that be that, and I might try one of Shed Pickups P90s as I've heard loads of good things about them. I also fancy doing something with Bumble Bee capacitors and ye olde worlde wiring, just because I never have.

Might have to talk to that Shugz chap again or visit Fake58, which I've been meaning to do for a while and buy some bits and do it meself.

Yeah, I should really do the things I can,
road to serenity and all that.

Sounds fun anyway, but obviously a bit down the line.

Saying that, I do have some bronze paint which could look pretty swish. Though a gold top SG Jr would be a first... Actually I've never done a SG Jr before, so it will be a first whatever way I go.

One to ponder, that.

La la laaa

Before The Storm: The Porn Shop One

Well, I'll no doubt start torturing The Porn Shop One over the next few days, but I figured for once it would be nice to show you how it looks before I start criminally damaging such a beautiful looking thing.

For the record - this is a Red Cedar Telemaster-esque body made with love by Simon at Fusion Guitars (top chap).

Stuck into that is a lovely maple Tele neck for added twang.

Under the ash tray cover thing is a Bare Knuckle Boss pickup, which will share noise duties with (probably) an aged '70s Gibson mini-humbucker beneath the scratchplate.

Other than that it is standard Tele controls, though with Gretsch knobs for some reason and there we are.

It looks so clean, so lovely...I almost feel bad even contemplating the corruption to come.

Yours seedily...

Things To Make And Do

Well, since things are calming down - for my benefit if not yours - I thought I'd do one of my world famous updates on the state-of-the-play in Jookyland, UK.

From the top then:

1. The Old Burny One

This is just waiting for me to remember which wires go where and then it should be done.

Soldering.
   Today.
       Really.

I have to say this has turned out better than I hoped, just mad curious to hear what old Bill Lawrence was doing when he was at Gibson for such a short time.

2. The Drip Dry One

Another that is turning Odyssey-like, I've finally decided on the pickups.

At the neck will be an old favourite, an IronGear Alchemist 90 P90. Lovely.

At the bridge is a bit of a gamble. It is an American small-hand-winder pickup which is meant to be Hot PAF like. Quality is meant to be similar to Bare Knuckle and sound similar to their Emerald, but we shall see. It is made by M Pire anyway, but I can't find out much about them beyond that.

Other than that I've gone for some aged Kluson tuners, a Wilkinson Bridge and a splatted rust finish over the beautiful mahogany body. Should be a Rocker, methinks.

3. The Bye Bye Buy One

I mentioned the other day that I'd got an old '70s DiMarzio Super Distortion, and naturally that should go nicely with a Kent Armstrong Hot Lipstick.

Curious in a big way about this one, and I am still loving the finish...
The only real question is when will the pickups arrive

La la la

4. The Porn Shop One

This is going to be special, methinks.

Red Cedar Telemaster body, maple/maple Tele neck, Bare Knuckle Boss bridge pickup and a hidden '70s Gibson mini-humbucker under the hood.

Can't wait in truth... Mucho rustiness.

I'm refusing to start this one until I've caught up on the precious three.

Well, so I say now anyway.
I might just rustify the body,
it can't hurt.

And there we are.

After those I literally have nothing left to do. Simon at Fusion is going to do me a Teardrop body, and maybe something more Rickie shaped, but they are down the road somewhat. Until then, I think I'm going to be looking for a Firebird of some kind to defile. Time will tell though...

Missing Inaction?

Upside Down
Boy You're Burnin' Me
Well, as I said the other day, this week is going to be a bit of a missing-inaction kind of time, as family bobbins means I will be out and about a fair bit and there is no chance of any 'progress' as such.

Just thought I'd mention it as if anybody happens to buy one of the guitars, it means that they won't be dispatched until next week - just thought I should point that out...

I am, after all, very professional.
(La la la, ahem)

Of more interest, to me at least, I've now got all the parts I need for The Old Burny One, and everything is en route for The Porn Shop One, which is kinda exciting.

Mr What suggested a Bigsby for it, in the comments, which I'll have a look at, as it might be a nice option. I've tended to avoid them so far, which is odd as I love how they look/sound and I can't really explain why. Hmmm...tempting.

As for other things, it is quite liberating to have caught up on the recent flurry of guitars. I'd been planning most of them since last year, and had parts all over the place, which is cool, but not, err, 'popular' locally. Once the last few are finished, it will hopefully be a bit more one-at-a-time, which is cool, though there will be less guitars, which maybe is or maybe isn't. Depends on whether you want one, I guess.

I've also been asked a few times recently whether I'll take deposits on un-finished guitars, as I know a few people have missed out here and there and I guess would like to make sure they are first-in-the-queue. I don't think I can do that though, as it puts a bit of pressure on me to finish them - which takes the fun out of it - and I guess people would like to have some input into 'their' guitar, which again spoils it for me. Call it selfish if you like, me? I call it art sugar. (La la la)

The truth is, I'm not cut out for doing custom orders, life is too complicated and it kills the buzz. I think Geoff and Andy will verify that...

But there we are, I always say you have to be quick if you want one of these guitars, and it is pretty much true. Most of them go in a few days, which means I wear a lot of black and look mournfilled most of the time... Whatever a mourn may be.

Pondering The Porn Shop One

Well, I said a while back that I had snapped up a Red Cedar Telemaster body from Simon at Fusion Guitars and quite naturally have been dithering ever since about what exactly I'm going to do with it.

To recap, this is an imaginary cross between a Jazzmaster - the outline - and a Telecaster - the rest - which Fender never made but perhaps should have done.

Kind of like their Pawn Shop guiitars, but cooler.

I'm not sure where the idea originated, probably with somebody playing with Photoshop at work when bored, but there we are.

Anyway, for once they are the best of both worlds, and I've long fancied having a go.

And now I can.

Well, since then I've mentioned it a few times, mulled-over various ideas and generally not made too many binding decisions.

Same as normal really.

However, I've since got it straight and have been collecting the bobbins I'll need.

From the top then, it is going to have:

1. The Fusion carved Red Cedar body. What does Red Cedar sound like? I don't know, but can't wait to find out. So next...

2. A lovely one-piece maple/maple Telecaster neck. I'd been edging towards rosewood, but I think a Tele should twang and sing, and the maple helps, so...

3. A proper old school ashtray bridge, with cover. I'm going for a Wilkinson one, as basically I loved the one on Lulu. Again we will also be getting stealthy and hiding a pickup under the blank scratchplate at the neck.

On Lulu it was a P90, with this it will either be an overwound Novak Jazzmaster pickup - which seems fitting, but if that doesn't cut it a hottish humbucker.  The pickup at the bridge is likely to be a Bare Knuckle Boss, or maybe a Yardbird, or a Brown Sugar. One of them anyway.

In truth I'm thinking about the humbucker at the neck to give some extra tone options. We'll see. I'll probably try both and go with whichever sounds best.

5. It will have a blank scratchplate at the neck, by that I mean that there won't be a hole cut in it for the pickup to peek out of.

Tuners I was thinking locking, but instead decided I'd go with the vibe and have ordered some nickel Kluson style ones. Again Wilkinson, and I might go for a bit of ageing, as I will with the ash tray bridge as it happens.

7. More importantly I've decided that I'm definitely going for a new variation on a rusting iron finish. I love the look of the corroded Bronze I did on The Grecian 201 One, but rust just seems to work for this. Though it is a tough call between that and the copper sulphate blue a completely corroded copper finish offers. No, the rust, it is going to be rusty - end-of. or maybe the blue. But rust, it has to be rust.

8. Other than that it will be standard Tele controls - though with Gretsch knobs which always look cool unless I can get some bakelite ones

So there we are, what is destined to be The Porn Shop One, coming soon as I get around to it, at an Emporium probably nowhere near you.
